This is what happens when its not. Feel sorry for the guy. He's leased onto the farmer I work for. If they wouldn't have pulled it out into the yard the tire shed would've burnt to. IMG_20141209_113625_597.jpg

Nate, I moved this over to the Safety forum.  Thought it would be more appropriate here.

Just to add a thought, check all your electrical heater wiring and connections before it is to late.

We see this often on dryers and ranges.
Make sure they are tight, but remember to unplug them before you check. :D

Yep, oil & other stuff leaking down the engine sure breaks down the jacket on the cords.  I had to replace a couple cords last year.

Yes but what the ins. company will pay ,the fair market value, and what he owes is a totally different number. The engine only had about 200,000 on rebuild and the trans 15,000 on it. The trans might be salvageable but he engine is toast. I don't think it would even be good enough for a core, it got real hot and I think the temper is gone out of the iron.

I don't know the year of the truck but if it had a cat in it a rebuild it around 20 k a reman trans is about 5k and with missed income not coming in the insurace will not come close to what he has lost . It's hard enough to make a living driving a truck when things go right let alone when something like this happens
