I was just wondering if there is a book out there decicated to the history, models and running of the Bolens tractors? I was thinking of a similar book like the 'Straight from the Horse's Mouth' by Michael Martino. the forum is great for information but there is nothing like a reference book to refer to.

There is a bunch of Bolens Manuals in our Manuals Section. You can download 3 for free per day. I read a history of Bolens but it was only a several page article and I don't remember where. We have several sponsors that can help with parts and info also. Good Luck, Rick

Nothing that is completely Accurate

Numerous people have attempted to write articles but none as of yet have been anything of value really. Either Bolens didnt keep good records or the documents that existed were tossed or snatched up by someone.

Best we can do is try and put the pieces together , which is easier said than done since Bolens made so many changes during their years.

Ok that's interesting. Do you know who the author was? Cheers.

Thanks. I will google the club and see what goes on. Michael Martino was the opposite when I bought his Wheel Horse book. He acknowledged my email and kept me informed of delivery; a great service and an interesting book as well (though I am certain not as interesting as the potential Bolens Story though!).

Andrew, I have a copy of that book that I bought four years ago. I bought it from Briggsplanet and they still list it on their website homepage http://www.briggsplanet.com/ for $10 plus $4 shipping in the USA. It's about halfway down the page on the right side. Hopefully, it is still available. Even if it is not 100% accurate, it still has a lot of interesting information about Bolens' history and the men behind it. They can also be reached via email at: briggsplanet@aol.com Sometimes the book shows up on eBay, if you can't get it from VGTCOA http://www.vgtcoa.com/ or Briggsplanet . Best of luck! -Ed

They still have the Book, contacted them today.
