Scott, does it have a 2 speed rearend, high/low? if so ,put it into neutral and it should roll.

I am pretty sure it is a two speed. Looking at the shifter and the indents, I was thinking one was a neutral- but figured since it was a hydro, it could not be that easy. It's on my trailer sideways, and the front tire is still flat, so I got to resolve that problem too. Thanks for the info!
Eaton 12 rear ends are single speed. All the way back to the seat is park, center is neutral and all the way forward is drive.

Thanks!! Would have been nice if all the decals were not long gone!!!! I have been looking at other Bolens model manuals and guessing what mine had!! At least I can get it moved next time and know I am not crazy! I had looked all over that transaxle for the release!

Well I have tubed the rear tires and tried to get it going but no spark. The wiring is a mess...red battery cable on the ground, black battery cable on the positive, and a good bit of the other wires are not hooked up as well. Most look to be safety switch wires. Ran out of time on this project but hopefully can get back on it over the holidays. Not as familiar with the S14-D motors. No points. Going to have to read up on this motor.

Almost forgot to ask- how do I get it to free wheel? I have looked for something to release it.....but have not found it yet.
If it does not have points it used a electronic ignition module and they where know to go bad then the ignition switch failed allowing the unit to always have power.
This is a good read on that system.

If its got the brekerless ignition I would rewire that to factory specs and make sure your ignition switch is working before you go any further. Sam sells replacement ignition modules but are not cheap.
