It looks pre world war two so maybe a Sears Handiman?

So you think this thing is old? From the pics it looks to be in ok shape. But I don't know enough about it, do you think it is all original or has it been altered ?
Also what is the purpose of a cultivator. When would you use something like this?

I use mine for soil prep in between the rows in the garden helps keep the weeds down in the early stages
