I'll be doing a base coat tomorrow. My last 12x14 room with a 5' closet only required 20 minutes of sanding after 3 coats. I'm getting better at it!

I don't mind so much, kinda like Art work. When done, go back and improve till finished, then paint! BUT, one bathroom I did over time the tape came undone slowly on ceiling and lots of little cracks all over in the mud. STILL not sure what went wrong with that one?  Took a year or two to start that. Looking pretty bad now, but haven't gotten the urge to do over, and not sure I want to if I can't do it right anymore.

Yep, bedded the boys 9x15 room yesterday, man, all corners, walls, and ceiling joints. Sucked too, not sure what I did, but on the second tape joint, ceiling mind you, my middle back went into a major cramping and I had to fight through it the rest of the evening to finish.   hurt to even get out of bed this morning. Gotta tape 5x5 closet today, doubt I will second coat bedroom.

I started out bad too, carrying the brand new bucket of mud down a couple steps, metal handle pulled out of bucket, hit the floor, but end slid through my hand barking the skin on one of my fingers, it hurt pretty good.

Doesn't help with tennis elbow either.

I use all purpose joint compound, I like the heavier- thicker mud....this bucket was almost like thin pudding. I had globs everywhere on ladder, floor, and me!

I am decent at it, minimal sanding,  just hate doing it.

I did a huge drywall job at our church summer of 2013, I was finish guy, the a friends over the garage room. Told my friends they are lucky, that will be the last finish job I ever do for anyone other tan myself.

I don't mind mudding for about three days. After that I would rather poke my eyes out with a pencil.

I know a guy who just loves to do it.  He will do anything related to drywall every day, all day, all year.  Brandon is the dry wall man, too. He can knock out a room in less time it takes for probably anyone of us to get motivated!

The funny thing is that he also is afraid of equipment.  He calls me whenever his 3 1/2 push mower engine puffs smoke while starting.  I guess he is afraid it will blow up.

Maybe those who like equipment hate drywall and vice versa?

If you did not know ? In side corners only have to be tape and filled .And the closets only have to be tape, after the shelf are put in and all the stuff is put in the closet you can't see any of it.

I worked in residential construction for about 6 years.

We hired the drywall finishing out.

PS....Don't ever open a 5 gallon bucket that a finisher left on the jobsite!
