I'm in the midst of restoring my 16, and I want to get it original.
My question is, what should the engine be painted?
Flint metalic grey or black? If black, gloss, or flat.
All the pics I've seen, and the 4 unit I've seen all had black
engines.(they could possibly have been repainted)
Looking at this ebay ad, I'd say gloss black is right.

MASSEY FERGUSON Lawn & Garden Tractor Manual MF 14 16 - eBay (item 110654038325 end time Mar-04-11 12:46:31 PST)

Anyone have any colour pics of original literature/ads/homecoming/etc.?

It's more a "Satin Black" than gloss. They make paint in "Low Gloss" , which may be just a tick more gloss than satin.

Thanks
So then, the grill, dash, and engine shud be the same. Low gloss makes sense, looking
at the dash.

I wonder if that's available in high temp, for the engine.

I use flat or satin Tremclad paint, it burns off near the exhaust port but for the rest of the engine it's good.

I used low gloss Dupilicolor heat paint on the motor. Low gloss Tremclad on the dash, steering column.

Took these pics off another site, forget the name?

Found it,

masseyfergusongt.tripod.com

Site is a little wierd to get into for me, don't know if anyone else has the same issue. After getting past the first enter screen I have to stop the second page from loading all they way to use the navigation menu, it's ok after that.
