That's right, it's time to start up the "4th Annual, When will it fall through the ice contest"!!!

Well actually it's, get ready to guess time. Don't start posting your entries until the tractor

gets out on the ice. At that time, I'll start up a thread in the Site Supporter Forum.

For those of you not familiar with the contest here is some light reading, with links to even

more light reading. As you can see it's good fun, and something to think about, other than

winter.

Today I pulled the tractor back up, out of the pond. With the snow we had last week, this whole

thing almost didn't happen this year.

Thank goodness we had that big rain on Monday, to

knock the snow and ice down.

DSCF2479.JPG

I had to bust up the ice a bit, to find the rope I left tied to it last winter.

DSCF2480.JPG DSCF2481.JPG

Thar she blows!

DSCF2483.JPG

And there she is back on land.

DSCF2484.JPG

Just like last year, about 15 little sunfish fell out of the carcass.

DSCF2487.JPG

And here she sits, waiting to get dragged out on to the ice, once it's thick

enough.

Lets see if we can set a new record for number of participants. Sign up to be a site supporter, and get your

entry in when the time comes.

Thanks, and have fun.

EDIT: No fishes were harmed!

This contest is about 15% of why my post count is so high.

Just to get this taken care of right away, are we letting George cheat again this year or not?

Nope. He's not even allowed to play.

Just hand out the prizes. That's all we need him for. :smilewink:

Never did find the hood, but I've got a donor to put on it.

Just to be clear, I am always wrong by one month, and was so close last year to my surprise. But this is the on contest I not mind losing by a month or two, cause my guess is always in April lol.

That's sad to disrupt someone's home like that! Did you eat the fishes? I'll play along, I guess! :smilewink:

Kenny, I didn't have any crackers, so I just put them back in the pond. :smilewink:

I bet the hood is providing good habitat.
Maybe when you retire, you can take up scuba and see.

If the fish get out of control, you could throw a JD in there. That should poison everything dead for a few years.

If I can play my cards right I might be able to give away a slightly used frosty beer mug with a logo from whom I won't name. :D
