anyone know where I can get a carrier bearing for a cub original rearend?

I'd get the measurements and try an auto parts or NAPA store..

Baum Hydraulics in Omaha, NE will probably have it.  Check their web site and if you can't find it give them a call.  Very friendly and helpful people.  Top quality merchandise also.  Just one more place to look but try Bolens 1000 first.
