Got more done on it today. Fixed the dash that was loose. Got the headlights working. And took it for a ride....and then I noticed that low gear is not engaging :(

If I am correct, the shifter/shaft the lever hooks to on the tranny is out when in HI. I may have a layer of rust/crud on it keeping it from shifting.

Tried to swap out bulbs with 1156 LEDs from autozone....no go, wouldn't even light. Regular 1156 bulbs worked no prob.

A few pics and a video of it running.

Sounds nice. Your is a little newer than mine. My hood gets narrower over the dash otherwise everything else pretty much looks the same. I didn't get a deck with mine either. It was purchased new with just the tiller.

I have the deck. Took it off to make room for the plow. :)

Another quick question:

Should the headlights get brighter or dimmer as the throttle is picked up/down?

My initial says no, bad regulator?

At idle, there is not as much voltage being made. Speed it up and the voltage increases to a max of ~14.5 volts. So yes, the lights will get brighter as you increase the RPM's. Some of that depends on the battery too. A small battery will do this more than a larger battery.

I didn't get out back yesterday! Hopefully today will be better for looking for those parts.

I think I have the mower lift links. I'll have to see if the part #'s are the same.

I scrapped one Craftsman II a while back to use parts for the GT18. I may have those mower links on a shelf in the garage. They are the same part #, so I'll look there before I take any off the other tractors. I'll be out there today!
