Well, I'm working on shutting down the arteries tonight. The deep fryer is bubbling away, with beer-battered cod and battered pickles!
Pics to follow... :rocker2:

Edit:

Here it is; fish, pickles, and some shrimp for good measure

I mix up the batter and set aside. Then I put some flower in a dish and add coarse ground black pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder to taste. I dredge the pickles in the flower, then dip them into the batter. Fry at around 370° until golden. I've used pickle spears and chips, we like the chips more. They come out with a great crunch and flavor... I like a little ranch dressing to dip them in too.
It makes a mess, but they're soooo good :D
This is the batter mix I used

There aren't many foods I haven't heard of, but fried pickles is one of them. My wife says they had some for sale at one of the tractor shows we go to. Guess I'll have to look for them, this year, and try one.

Same here too. When it's hot, & especially when it's hot AND I've had a tough work day, my appetite is subdued. Now after I've rested & cooled down, it's a different story. Just had some Kroger brand chicken nuggets for lunch. Likely a small meal tonight....been a tough day.
