Or at least not bad for the back.

Has anyone come across one, that gives good lumbar support?

Seats.....there's hundreds of them! Really, you gotta watch quality on many. I bought a high back with arms off ebay last y ear. One arm was broken in carton, darn thing was plastic, mo metal in it. Ended up they sent me another seat, didn't even want the old one back???  They must be some cheap import if they can do that? They had no new arms or any parts of. I think if you go to many farm stores they have tractor seats with armrests and w/out. Some even have suspensions. Think to get a GOOD one, you have to spend close to $200 anymore. Course the best buy is always the high back YELLOW Deere seat and the one they have the most of. No arms on those. I have gotten some also that don't seem to really have a cover, it's like the whole soft material was in a form and somehow "glazed" on the outer surface and that is all it has, no cover. Seem to hold up pretty good. Keep in mind I have few tractors that I keep long enough to really try out all the seats for very long, so can't help on the life expectancy!

Good seat would be nice, but I have too many tractors to put one on each one. Any way I know the feeling with a sore back and bouncing around on the tractors doing what ever. Noel

I have a zero turn with flip down arm rests. The problem is they are too low, causing a sore back from slouching down to use them.

Seats are not really "one size fits all" and its kinda hard to test fit one on the internet. I bought a GT several years back that had a bobcat seat on it. The thing didnt look right on a GT and weighed 80 pounds,  but it sat good

The JD weight adjustable suspension seat that adjusts forward and back and has armrests. Michigan Seat makes it. Northern Tool sells it in black.

In my defense, Your Honor: You did not imply there was a price limit or budget involved.

I will be buying a seat too for my rebuilt mtd990. Most of what I've seen is junk. I don't want to pay more for the seat than I did for the tractor...not looking too good so far. The only place I have near by that I can actually see is TSC. They only have two & I don't like them.

Thanks for the input. Finding a place to test run them is impossible up here.

That's the problem. One could go through a lot of trial and error, and spend a small

fortune finding one that's good, by shopping online.

I only need a couple of them, for the working machines that I spend long periods of time

on. I'd even be willing to switch 1 good one, from grass cutting, to snow duty, if it's too

pricey.

I have a fold-down boat seat that helps a lot over the old plywood board and soggy foam.  Takes up more room tho makes it harder to get on/off and raise the plow handle all the way back in winter

kind of like this one http://www.ebay.com/...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Cat, that IS cool catalog and pretty cheap on suspension seats too. I kinda like those first row ones with metal suspension, raised up some. Sort of arms on them and would reach down between fenders good on a 990 MTD then. Course lots of Yellow ones look neat, but other colors offered too, neat!  I ordered a Catalog while looking.
