Hey all. I have the opportunity at an Ariens that I hope to pick up. From my research and the picture sent I think it is an S-10G; I know the G for sure as it clearly says gear on the side decal. It has a nice big snowblower that I would love to use in my driveway and the owner said it drove and threw snow great until the engine "grenaded" which doesn't sound very good. He said it has a 10hp Kohler. If anyone has one of these does it have the 10hp K series Kohler? It looks like it in the pics I've found and I'm hoping its true because I just so happen to have an extra K241 10hp sitting on my bench.

Thanks

K241 was the original. I can't find the shaft size/length.

The drive shaft bolts on the flywheel side. And the front pto comes off the shaft side. Using a electric clutch.

Ok, sounds like the engine layout is similar to my Cub Cadet. Even if I have to swap flywheels or whatever for mounting purposes I at least know that I basically have a good long block to put in it. Thanks for the info. If I do manage to pick it up I will make sure to gets some pics.
