Going to fix a leak in the rear end hydro. On the tractor is says to use 20W oil. So when I refill it what can I use. Can't buy 20W oil here any where. What do you suggest ?? Noel

I just looked in the manual and that's what it says also. I wonder if a hydraulic/transmission oil would work okay?

Call an auto parts store such as Napa who might have someone knowledgeable at the counter.  Ask about the different hydraulic oils available and what their weights are.  I would shy away from using motor oil now because zinc has almost been universally removed from motor oil in the 30 odd years since these machines where built.  Zinc would be a major anti-wear component needed for the pump and gears.  I would suspect you could probably use some type of universal trans fluid for farm tractors.  I believe Hytran has a weight somewhere in the 10w30 range, I went through this with my Oliver hydraulics a few years ago.  It originally spec'd motor oil also, but oil had changed a lot since '57.  I used a universal hytran in it from a farm store without problems.
