All the work I did to the wifes work truck a few weeks back(new axels and bearings and seals, brakes, rotors)seems a waste of time tonight, had to have it towed home..loud pop and the same bearing that went last time is gone again..I am having health problems,so its gonna be a slow go this time..just dont have the funds for a new used rear end.Not sure what to do.

Wasn't it an axle bearing and a worn axle? I don't remember the axle being broken?? With all the metal that was gone from that axle, It had to be somewhere. It could have been a junk aftermarket axle that broke. Did it quit moving altogether? You'll just have to get the wife out there and coach her through fixing her rear end!

Pull the Whole thing out, right off the springs and drop in one from junkyard. Must be something bent in tubes or other parts that you can't see while in the truck. Cheaper to drop in a used one, than to fix the old. OR, lots of good deals on new cars/trucks now days!

I did the same thing with my old Gopher truck. Put a bunch of money into the rear end only to have the thing go bad again. Jerked it out and bought a used one and with a warranty and life has been good again. Darn truck is so quiet I almost can't stand it.

Hope you get to the bottom of your problem.
