I've been cleaning up the garage and came across this , which has been sitting on a shelf for years .

Its Deere or early Bolens green in color , I'm not even sure if its a tractor part or if its off something else .

Would appreciate if someone can identify it .

TIA

I know that feeling.  I've laid parts on my desk and just looked at them for weeks as I do other things driving myself crazy trying to remember why I kept it to begin with and what it came from.

I see a chain drive sprocket.  It wouldn't be off a walk behind you might have had, maybe?

It could be Springfield walk behind, same green. Engine belt drives a jack shaft that chain drives the axle. I have some manuals and will check the casting number to Springfield part numbers, cause SF used the first production year of the part cast in the casting number, which is used as part number.

It sort of looks like a part for a National mower but I could be wrong.

It seems like I've seen that on a Schwinn Whizzer conversion. 1949, if I remember right. I'll have to go out to the garage and check!
