Some assembly done today:  HPIM1455.JPG  Just painted the brace from the top link to the frame. Still need to make a parking stand, picked up the metal for that this morning.

Finished up the 3-pt plow, except for the new share, cover board & decals:  HPIM1458.JPG  HPIM1457.JPG

When the parts show up, I'll put it back in the shop overnight to warm up for the decals, then store it in the back shed until spring.

It's nice to have a loader to move stuff around!   :D

Never really liked the color of the Ford blade I found for the little 40, so it changed today.  HPIM1541.JPG

First time it's warmed up enough to paint outside since I bought it last fall.  So, this morning, I lightly sanded it, then, after noon I wiped it down with liquid sander.  Gave it five coats of Rustoleum "John Deere Green", the last two with hardener:  HPIM1556.JPG

Hopefully, I can get it put back together & stored in the back shed tomorrow!

Put the blade back together this morning, pivot bolts in first:  HPIM1557.JPG

 Then the springs:  HPIM1558.JPG

I even put the original Ford serial number tag back on:  HPIM1559.JPG

Finished up:  HPIM1560.JPG

Used the 790 w/300 loader to take it to the back shed for storage until next snow season:  HPIM1561.JPG

Slow & easy:  HPIM1562.JPG

Had to re-hook to get it through the shed door:  HPIM1563.JPG

Well, today was the day that I finally got started on the little 40S.  Took the oil pan off to clean the sludge out of it, when I changed the oil shortly after buying it, I had to poke a stick through the sludge to drain the oil!   HPIM1667.JPG

Got a pleasant surprise when I took the hood & grille off, new radiator!  HPIM1668.JPG

Took the gas tank off to paint separately.  Even got the battery tray off without twisting any bolts off!  HPIM1669.JPG

Working on the 40 again today, taking parts off for painting:  HPIM1672.JPG  HPIM1673.JPG  HPIM1674.JPG

Went over it with engine degreaser, pressure washed it, then "Simple Green" & another pressure wash.  I'll need to wire brush some areas before going over it with liquid sander then primer.  Hope to spray some "Classic Green" by the end of the week!

Put four double coats of JD "Classic Green": HPIM1677.JPG  HPIM1678.JPG  HPIM1679.JPG

Hopefully, I can get the wheels finished tomorrow!  The aren't going to take a lot, clean them up & one coat of JD "Yellow".

Painted the rims today;  HPIM1680.JPG

Ordered new front tires for it.  Parts order from Steiner Tractor came today, which included a new water pipe, painted it & the air cleaner.  Start putting it all back together tomorrow!
