I did a little trading with a buddy and ended up with this ST10 today. It was taken apart to paint and go thru the engine, the guy was going to make a puller out of the tractor. I think it is has most ever cover, guard, screen, etc. I was told they honed the cylinder and put new rings in it. I usually don't like custom repaints but I think this one looks pretty good. I am not a fan of the mid 70's Sears yellow,so to me the tractor looks better with these colors. Everything is suppose to be here to put it back together. I should know in the next few days because the plan is to try to get it together over the next few warmer days. If it runs out good,I think I will put some wheel weights on it and go looking for a snow plow ( I know they aren't all that easy to find).st10 sears.jpg

NOOO.....! lol KC9KAS I will tell ya though I have had a fair amount of interest in the GT14 and as I have told them,I am not interested with parting with it at this point. I struck the deals to get both tractors a week or so ago. They both just happened to get here about the same time.

Nice repaint. Looks like Rustoleum Sail Blue to match the 60's color suburbans.

I knew this tractor would bolt back together pretty fast and should be a runner, not another non runner to have to push out of my way in the shop this winter. ( I have my quota of those now. )  So this evening I put the plate under the engine and bolted it down ( the engine is just setting loose on the frame in the pictures ),put the tank on and a few of the small pieces in the couple of hours that I worked on it. So I thought I would see if it will run,has great spark. Put a little gas in it and it started up and sounds good. I did notice the head gasket leaking all along the front side,so I will need to order a new head gasket. Hopefully I will have the rest of it pretty well together by the time I get the new gasket. I like the low stance look of the XL and ST10 tractors and have thought for a while they would look good with a wider stance. Since this one already has the wider offset, wider Suburban front wheels and tires and I have a set of wider offset rear wheels from a Wheel Horse that have 8.50 ag tires on them,I will find out how I like it. I will tube the fronts, already have a set of tubes, then paint the front and rear wheels. Hopefully the little tractor will look pretty good.

Nice looking little critter.
When you put the plow on, please be sure to put the proper bracing on or you will damage the steering gears.

Go to the last page of this manual and make sure you have parts 27&28

I will look MH but I am going to guess it is the same side braces running back to the sides of the frame that my 10XL had with the plow.

Yes, those would be the ones.
Sometimes guys get plows are those parts aren't there. The damage happens when they don't know and try to use it.

I thought that was what you were referring to MH. I just struck a deal tonight for a,I think,68 10XL pretty much a two owner nice condition tractor. It has the aluminum deck,3 point and garden plow. It has the original manuals for the tractor,mower,3 point, and garden plow with it all in a nice 3 ring binder.
