Can I fit a snowblower off a JD 317 on a JD 420? is it plug and play or does it need mods?

The 317 is belt drive from the front pulley and the 420 is shaft driven.

I think the mount to the frame is narrower on the 317.

The frame width on the 317 is indeed narrower than the 420.  With some mad fab skills one might be able to make it work.
