Contrast CT scan is scheduled for next Monday. The scan uses 2 chemicals to give the contrast. 1 you drink and the other injected into the blood stream. About 95% of all that have this done gets diharea from the liquid you drink, so we thought it would be wise to let me heal a few more days before I go thru that. Following that on Tuesday we will meet back with the Dr. to go over what is next. This CT will give the Drs. A really good picture of the whole tumor.

Yes, I was happy with the consult today because I was ready for the worst, but PRAYING for the best. So if there is good news when talking about Cancer then I felt I received today.

Thanks again for all the PRAYERS and positive support. When I start to get a little overwelmed, I know I can come here and get back on top of this again. Thank you all, I truly appreciate it.

I just had to have a CT scan today. If you never had one before, there's nothing to it really. I've had several. Show up an hour before the actual scan and drink the barium solution, they have "cappochino" (sp) flavor but it still tastes like crap. The hour is to let the stuff get through your system. Then you just lay down, in front of the big coil and they hook the IV up. There will probably be a couple of passes without the IV dye running then when they start that you will get a "hot" feeling all over but not terribly uncomfortable. The actual scan only takes only 15 minutes or so start to finish. That solution can loosen up the bowels but not all the time. I went to Taco John's for lunch afterwards--LOL! I really did, not paying a bad price for it ---yet! It was 9* outside and it sounded good.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.---DAC

Last cat scan I had of my guts was when I had food poisoning. Dr decided my insurance needed to pay for one during my er visit.

I downed the stuff mixed berry real quick. Waited the hour and got wheeled back.

They hooked the stuff up to the IV and started the scan. My hand started feeling really warm then really wet.

The nurse comes running out. I'm bleeding all over its 2 am and her first solo night on the cat scans. She is freaking out. I'm sitting there bleeding all over. I had to calm her down and get her to fix my blood loss. I couldn't be mad at her. She was way too cute!!

Been on the phone with Brian & he's holding pretty good.   Having never been down before myself, this has opened my eyes quite wide.  Not easy for guys like Brian & me not to be able to work, but we hit our wall this time.  I am on the easier side of things already, while Brian is just getting to his mountain to climb.  I know he's coming out of this fine, but he gets all my prayers just the same.

Pain has been easier the last day or so, but still getting those sharp out of nowhere pains that makes everything tighten up, not a good thing. Just trying to get plenty of rest and hard to be on the computer when all I can do is still lie down or stand up, sitting is still a real pain in the butt. Getting cabin fever pretty bad, maybe I'll get out of the house for just a little while and see how I do. Contrast scan is still on for Monday at 9:30AM so I'm just waiting and PRAYING. Thanks guys for your support.

Brian,
You have been in my thoughts a lot lately and am glad to hear any positive news. Even with the on and off pain, glad to hear that it is improving as a whole.
Praying for the best finding possible on Monday and speedy healing from here.

Alan pretty well summed up how I feel, also. Just post as you can. Glad the pain is not constant!
