We drove all the way to the Mayo clinic to see a specialist for my wife. After we got there the doctor told us that he was not the doctor we needed to see. Never again.  :mad2:

I made it thru my CT scan today OK, but did have a "Minor Allergic Reaction" to the IV Contrast Meds. They gave me some Benadryl and I was fine. I have a few hives on my face and around my head. Went back to work after lunch and feel fine.

Now I'm just waiting on the Surgeon to get me in to see him now. Maybe still have a chance to see him Friday.

My wife took me to Mayo (Rochester MN one) also and we did find out a test that should be done for the type of cancer I had that my surgeon wasn't aware of so I guess it was good. Took 2 days at the hospital there. It is kind of irritating that Mayo now keeps sending me requests to donate money after they got around 20 grand from my insurance!

If I pass my May and November testing they are saying I will be called cancer-free (5 years of testing) but now there is a glitch! My surgeon is closing up and moving away so who knows what a new one will determine out of this! My wife hated the surgeon that cut me open so she is pretty happy about it but I'm a little insecure about the change. Oh well, it will all work out!

Glad your reaction was fairly minor Brian, I'm allergic to a lot of stuff but the contrast never bothers me. That darn barium drink  upsets me for a bit but it passes pretty quickly. I am a believer in Benedryl, rely on it often with my normal allergies.

Good luck---we're pullin' for you, Brian!----DAC

We have no complaints about Avera Mckennan in Sioux Falls. They have given both of us top notch care.

Our list of complaints about RC Regional is quite opposite! I'm not blaming the staff as it seems management treatment and policies have really hurt the employees attitudes and of course that trickles down to the quality of care. My last stay there was 4 years ago as of a couple weeks ago so maybe and hopefully it has turned around.

Finally got an appointment set for Wednesday, the 4th at 11:30. Hopefully nothing will get in the way of this one. They had called about 9AM today and said they could work me in this afternoon, then 15 minutes later called me back and said that there had been an emergency at the hospital, so the Dr. would be out the rest of the day.

Thanks for the PRAYERS and checking on me Josh.

Good deal Brian! Sure hope and pray the scan shows major improvement so surgery isn't as invasive.
