I just awoke from an over 3 hour nap, of which I never came to for a second.   As good as bed felt, my body must prefer the recliner.  My Dr actually said a recliner may be the way to go the first few days.  The recliner at the hospital must have cost them every bit of $25 as it was the most uncomfortable brick I've ever tried to sit in, much less sleep.  Feel much better than before, but I have taken a step or 2 backwards yesterday.

It has been Kenny.  I feel a lot better today now.  I've slept 4 hours of deep sleep....the first deep sleep since before I checked into the hospital.  May walk down to the silage pit where Josh is moving the hay.  I can bend my neck plenty to give my belly shots now, and just one tomorrow & shots are complete.  I was started back on my coumidin thinner in the hosdpitsl, so by tomorrow itwill be in my bloodstream full force.  I am just beginning to feel like I'm joining the living again.

Walked down to see the last 3 of what ended up 75 bales get stacked.  Forgot the cell phone for a pic.  Talked a bit with Josh & his wife Teri, then walked up the hill to our home.  Teri brought us some bandaging so I could change the dressing so I could finally take a shower.  My cut line looks great as one could look I guess.  It's a tad over 3" long.

Good color, so looks like no sign of infection.  Got it bandaged & heading to the shower soon.  I am also making far less typo's, and so far, not a single one in this long post.  I gotta say, seeing the hay in was a BIG boost to my spirits!  As James Brown sang...."I feel good now" (like I hoped that I would now).  :smilewink:

Certainly a long road to complete recovery, but the worst appears to be behind me.

By putting up my "I'm asleep" sign, I got so much more rest. Josh said I would have had at least 5 visitors.  Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude, but I seriously needed pure rest.

Rest if you need it. Others can wait till you heal.

Glad things are getting better. Just follow the Drs orders and take it easy. My prayers continue for a speedy and complete healing.

The sign was a great idea!

Yes, it did wonders for me.  But it bothered me that I turned some away, but I had such an awful night that I just couldn't have repeat. But Craig, sign or not, I want to see you sometime tomorrow before you leave out Monday morning, and that's an order, not a request!  :smilewink:

But you guys have hurt my feelings....not a single comment on my awesome stitch line!  :rolling: Just finished showering, and man does it feel good to get cleaned up good. They said no shower for 4 to 5 days, so I took the 4 day option.  I only used the soft neck brace a couple hours or so this morning, then went without it and doing great.  My neck range without pain is far greater to the left than before surgery, and slightly better to the right, but right is only a little further before pain.  Up & down has improved only slightly at this point.  And as much as I loved Teresa before surgery, it has grown even more with the tender loving care she's given me, even when she's worn to the bone.  She is my Angel !!   I think tonight will be the best sleep yet!

Sleep is the body's method of healing.  Get plenty of it, you need it.   Looks like the doc did a good job keeping a straight line when sewing you up.  when it starts to itch, don't scratch it!

Unfortunately sleep evades me yet again.  Maybe it's the medications, or just body stress.  But I got just shy of 3 hours solid sleep, then up & down till now at 5am, as I've given up on being able to fall back asleep.  Guess I'll just do like yesterday & take extended naps all during the day.
