Glad you got to go home today.  Now the hard part comes to just sit back and not do anything. :D

:ditto: to that! Just what did the Doc say about going back to work?

Just what did the Doc say about going back to work?

My pulmonary Doc said 1 week before easing into work.  I go to my regular Dr tomorrow who will regulate my blood thinner.  He may have a different view on time off.  Either way, I will have NO problem not getting up early to milk.  It's so nice not to set an alarm clock.  I went to bed last night at 8:30, asleep at least by 9, and slept till 6:30.  Man did it feel nice!  My right calf is almost free of any swelling now.  Still, my leg aches once I get up & about.  When I see my regular Dr tomorrow, gonna go pick up some support hose (yes, olcowhand now wears hosiery LOL), as my right leg will forever have swelling due to the damage to the blood vessels/arteries.  I never knew before, but the return vessels sending blood upwards from the legs has check valves to prevent fluid buildup, and to aid in pumping the blood.  Makes sense, as we use check valves in fuel lines/etc.

Anyways, you guys may need to stop worrying about me working too early, and worry I won't wanna return to work!  Today is the last decently warm day, so I will walk around a bit to see what all is going on, but that's it.  I will do piddly things (truly piddly) as soon as I know it's ok, but anything that makes a muscle actually work.....not gonna happen.  I am so happy to be alive, and I wanna keep it that way!

Good plan. Don't push it.

I did that yesterday, with my back, and paid the price.

When I grow up, I want to be smarter.

Glad you are gonna have some more rest time. And ease back into work when the time comes. Getting out will be good, a little exercise will be good! It's cool down here, 32° right now!

You and Joe Namath!!!!

Yes, all our veins have little one way check valves, keeps the blood moving to the heart, also aids in regulating blood pressure.

Glad to hear you are back home and feeling better. We know you wanted a needed vacation, although not this way. Enjoy it though and make sure you get plenty of rest and get healthy again,......we need to look forward to 4th annual Ball Hollow Plow day which means you gotta be around!!!!

Trust me, we are all happy you are still here, too!

Is Teresa going to survive you being off-duty? Denise usually wants to send me back to work 48 hours into a stay-cation!

Very glad all is going well Dan,l.  You were quite lucky.  You may have  to make some life changes but it's certainly better than the alternative.  My  41 year old daughter is on blood thinner for a stroke she had 2 years ago. They don't know why she had it but she is doing fine.  It won't be long and you will be back to regular duty. My wife is concerned that the baby cows are being well cared for.  She says "don't make me come down there". Am looking forward to plow day 2015.

Not been online much, as I'm mostly kicked back resting.  I did a stroll earlier to the manure pit, then drove past the field where the poo is being spread.  Then I came back in to rest.  I can easily tell I'm not ready to attempt any work.  I did order feed, as I can do that by date without climbing to look in the bins.

So if I'm still thin as far as GTT time, don't worry, I'm doing what I need to do and just propping my feet up & resting my eyelids.

Sounds like you are having a good first day of home recuperation. That's good!!

And since the Canadians were nice enough to share their cold weather with Upper Midwest USA, I'm going to be generous and keep passing it your direction! That way you won't miss going outside as much!

Not to worry about the "hosiery", I've worn "knee highs" for 15 years, they're a nuisance, but they work!  ~~  Lowell

Glad you got out some, Daniel! I know we can't keep you cooped up constantly. It will take a bit to build yourself back up.
