Is there a place where I can fin what Bolens models have interchangeable trannys? Im Thinking of purchasing a bolens I have never seen that is equiped with a full hydraulic loader attachement but a dead transmission. Before driving 2 hours to see the thing I want to know if I can easily find a transmission in order to make my offer. Unfotunately the seller is a old man that has no way of sending me pics so I cannot know the model for sure. All I know is that its an old one (lol) most probably a FMC model from the description I got ( it looks like a 1886 but I dont know for sure).

I would suggest getting the Large Frame Service Manual and seeing the models listed according to drive train type. Good luck.

that has an eaton 12 from what I remember, easy rebuild if it is just a sloppy pump. busted keys in the gear box is a possibility also

Well, at first glance it seems to be a FMC HT 20 with the loader attachement. The guy also had the 2 stage snow blower but was not willing to sell it.

The tractor is in pretty bad shape but I figured the loader was worth the trip.

Although the business is defunct and the website is crawling with malware, 'Sonny's Bolens Tripod' has a handy tractor identification section that lists engines and transmissions per tractor. Perhaps it has the info you need.
