To all the Ladies on the site...

Does your husbands have too many tractors?

My husband expects me to mow but none of the tractors are mine! I open up the garage doors and see nothing but tractors!  I ask my husband which one should I use.  His response... Well, what are you doing?  I ask why?  He tells me it depends on what I am doing and which tractor is equip for what I am doing.

The women that I am, I do not understand this statement. Again, all I see are tractors!

Over the years I am slowly starting to understand the original question... What am I using the tractor for?  I've come to realize we have several tractors that are just pretty, some that are collectors and eventually in my husband's dream of spare time he always talks about fixing them up. We have a tractor with a front end loader... that would be amazing to use around the house if it worked!  And then we have my chose of two tractors, those are the two that will help me with my needs around the house.  One has a mower deck and the other I can hook the cart to and clean up around the house.  Several I can drive around the property and look pretty on and that is about all they are good for!  And others I think they are just collecting dust.

Around the house I can find every implement made for all the the tractors and that is another story to why I can't use so many of the tractors.

Somehow, my husband keeps finding tractors to bring home and telling me they serve some kinds of purpose.  Yes, the purpose that I still have no idea of why we need another tractor!

So back to my question.... Does your husband have too many tractors?

No, of course not! He used to have more and they weren't enough. He's such a precious darling and he deserves what ever he gets.

This answer is from Mrs C   ,,,,,   " yes he has too many tractors , and after watching him use his tractors I realize that there are newer better and safer tractors , then we would only need one "

I don't think my wife would want me to spend  $10k  for a newer tractor lol

hey I'm down to 2!  (was down to one--- if a Woods ZTR counts as a tractor that is---- until about 2 weeks ago when I brought this Ariens home.   I still have not had the Cub Quietline or 149/169 or  782 that I have wanted...

I would not mind a WH larger than a Raider or Charger.... but before Toro got their hands in things...

but I have had plenty of SS and Suburbans  at one time, at one time I guess I had 5 0r 6 of those at the same time... (not all ran)

I also had a JD 212 until I blew it up and a 314 that came to me that way at a time I could not afford to "get" running so away those went. If I got another JD I'd want a 318 or a 400....   so I have a ways to go.

and yes they are tools.... I just keep trading up the line   like starting out with flea market tool show "specials" then onto Crapsman and finally mac or Snap on,  and now I'm back to filling in with what ever I can find  (but still do all I can to avoid Chinese ones)  same way with tractors....kind of

what little they realize, newer isn't always better-- newer is usually thinner metal, cheaper import sourced components and "safer"?   I never asked for my tractors to come to me "idiot proofed".  they still don't drive themselves like a robot/// and I don't think that all my "common sense" has gone out the window, yet... so many gadgets on the newer ones that weren't needed before and really are not needed yet.  (that just means more possibility of a break down, and another tractor collecting dust.  Remember K I S S  and that means you gotta have OLD Reliable around for when the latest gizmo breaks....
