I just live to far back in the woods I guess..there are farm family's around us,but I guess they go to the city..I might offer a hay ride next year if I get my little 6018 up and going.A neighbor here is 1/2 mile away in most cases.

I favour regular potato chips. Haven't had a kid come here for eight years, and my reasoning is the same--- can't let them go to waste, lol, munch!

My son lives about a mile north of me inside the village limits and had 153 kids last night.  I live outside the village limits on a fairly busy highway and had seven kids show up, all Grandkids.  Of the 12 houses on our block we are the only one that still passes out treats.  The wife quit decorating for Halloween this year except for a couple of pumpkins.

We live on the edge of a small town. It used to seem that every other house did Halloween, now it's about one in 5. I attribute it to other people going from town to town on Halloween week. Towns all get together up here and don't overlap for some reason. (Just a couple of years ago, it was so packed on the sidewalks I had to kind of be the lineman for the kids.)
It was nice this year, mainly town folks.

This year my two older ones had an idea.
They both designed little flyers that said some variant of Thank You for participating and helping me have a nice childhood.
They took no candy, just went door to door and gave out the thank you's and had fun with friends.
I was more than a little proud and told them so.

That was a downright darn decent thing to do. It's great to read what a positive influence their mother is having on their lives.
