I got the hood, grill, and front wheels painted yesterday but something was not right with the paint. It was just way too thin right out of the can and ran really bad. NAPA is going to mix me a new can Monday so I can re-spray it.

Today we got the engine in the frame for the first time in three years. I'm almost going to hate burning the paint off that muffler, lol.

Can anyone see what I forgot to install in the last pic.

Bingo! I thought it was pretty stupid on my part but I was excited to get the engine back in her.

I'm trying to make the best of my time off this week. The front tires are ordered and I re-sprayed the hood with the newly mixed paint. Wes and today I mounted the hood and started wiring everything up. I ran into a clearance issue connecting the rear half of the driveshaft to the gear box. I think I did not get the yoke back far enough so that is tomorrows project.

It has been a long weeks/ of 12 hour days at work but my son and I managed to get the tires and rear fender on plus a little more wiring. The bolts I had to mount the headlights were too short so they will have to wait until next week. We found a good seat at the junk yard but can not decide whether to paint the back in crème or back in black. I have seen it both ways on the 416's. Any opinions?

Yeah I have seen it both ways so I wonder if there was a change somewhere along the way

The broken clip that you have is known as a j-nut in some places. What thread is it? I have dozens in my shop. If I have your size I'll mail some to you.

I found the nuts I needed yesterday. They use the same nut in the seat bottoms so I got several at the junk yard. Thank you for the offer!

We are getting closer to firing her up! I finished the wiring yesterday now I just need to hook the battery up and test everything. After that I still have to run the fuel line and hook up the choke cable. Does anyone have a pic of the choke cable mounted to the engine?

Wish I had seen your post earlier today. I'll see about a pic of the choke cable in the morning! It's raining here right now!
