i have been after this tractor for a couple of years.  last Saturday everything fell in place for it to happen. very little compression, carb leaking and throttle shaft wobbly, plug wire was frayed badly, junk spark plug

I got it to have some compression and it wanted to fire a little

got a head gasket in and re torqued everything switched to a newer carb that I rebuilt and got to drive it Saturday night

https://www.youtube....h?v=cFhbyaFsH8Q

got it out yesterday

the problems I am having right now are :

no reverse (it doesn't want to spin the revers wheel  how can I clean up that to make it work) ?

I think the rings are shot (its smoking and fouled out the plug)

coming from a world of cub cadets this thing is different that is for sure

GREAT TRACTOR!

In the last video [of you driving it] I noticed less smoke than in the first video of it running.  Keep running it and the smoke may go away alltogether.

True. Didn't think about that. I am just not used to a rope start tractor

Nice find, do you have the hood and belt guards?

Your reverse disc is worn all the way down, they are NLA but I am working with a manufacture to get these reproduced.

Luckily many of the Kohler parts are still available, let me know if you need parts.

I noticed an adjustment on the lever. Can that be tightened?
