About 20 years ago, my dad buried several old cars out back, he worked construction so he was able to borrow a track loader to crush the cars and then dig the hole. Well, fast forward 20 years. We are now building greenhouses out back and we are wanting to build a couple of the greenhouses part way under ground to help keep them worm and these old cars are right in the way. So I have started digging and I finally found them. I have dug down about 4 feet and I finally found a tire, on a rim hooked to a axle. So I am guessing this is it??? I am hoping to dig some more tomorrow, I only dug for a hour or so today and I got quite a long ways.

I'm hoping to dig up the cars, wash them up a little and then haul them into the scrap, I'm hoping this is going to help pay for greenhouses.

I'm hoping to dig up the cars, wash them up a little and then ...

I thought for a brief second that you might be intending to restore them.  Some folks see everything as restorable, regardless of how rusted or flat it is.

Earthsheltering can help protect the greenhouse but, in the winter, it creates a shadow twice as long as the depth in the ground. Good Luck, Rick

I'm not sure what all is down there, but I know one is a chevy Vega (that's the red hood), I'm not sure what else is under there. I guess time will tell. I think these are way past restoring, I know the vega was totaled before it was buried and I don't know how many times these old cars were driven over by the track loader before they were laid to rest.
