I came across this when I was parting out this Jacobsen 100 C. It was used in the past by some young guys here for pulling. They had a problem with the brakes on it and decided to do it this way.

Simply just cut a V belt and wrap it around a trans pulley fashion a loop to the brake rod and here it is.

They said it stopped great. Another way to do it. Roger.

THANKS!!   I've had to weld my '63 Jake 1000's brake band twice so far.   Of course it does bad things to the metal, the weld is stiff and causes breakage right next to the weld in a short order.

My 59 Wards/Midland tractor has a brake like that... but it's factory original.

Great idea, and no shortage of spare parts around either.
