2. Nothing in this life is free.
3. Instant gratification is worthless.
4. Pay your own way through life don't rely on others.
5. Help others in need. Even if it's in a small way

If you could give one piece of advice to today's youths and I mean one thing that will help them in life what would it be? The best lessons are Learned the hard way but we can give them some freebies I'm sure.
For many you can't, spoiled is part of the problem the rest is change from the normal.
I will be 31 in a few weeks.
Most of today's youth could not even touch me with a 10 foot pole in many ways, most call me totally nuts, they are right, i am, wish them all the best trying to keep up.
Just buried another uncle two months ago and lost another last month,... key word being to listen to those who have already walked the line and try to apply it as best as one can, the rest is up to us to figure out, not much left to look forwards to anymore.

If you want something you have to earn it !!!!!! No one gets a free ride !!!!
My exact comment until I read yours. I told all of our children that you work hard and it pays off. You slack off and someone else pays. Anything you get from working hard is much nicer, sweeter, if you will when YOU earn it. As well, Mean what you say and say what you mean.
I cited to my youngest son about the part of borrowing something. I try not to but when I do I return whatever it is in better shape than when I borrowed it. I had to borrow a tandem axle trailer from a friend. When I got it it was dirty and had several lights that were out on it. I stopped at the local equipment place that sells the lights needed and I bought them and put them in and continued on. After hauling what I had to haul and before retuning the trailer I washed the trailer. When I returned it our friend asked why it looked so good and wasn't there some lights out on it? I said yes and because you let me borrow it I replaced the lights because I knew he wouldn't let me pay him any thing for the use. I felt great about it and he was very glad to of lent it to someone who cares for other peoples property. Roger.

Live your life is such a way that when you die, no one looks into your coffin and says, "Did he go to heaven or not?"
Robert E. Lee said it best, "Study hard, be always a gentleman, live cleanly, and remember God."
