I got this push mower at an auction over the summer. Lots of lookers lots of questions but compared to the number of people walking by looking before the sale started, nobody bid against me.

I used to see lots of mowers with this style deck when I was a kid, kinda like a Lawn boy but with a stamped steel deck instead of magnesium.  but what has me curious is that kick start. That I have never seen on a push mower. Judging by teh engine I'd guess it is from the mid to late 50s.

That kick start lever is NOT home made. there is a sticker of some kind (faded beyond reading what is on it)  on the base of the lever.

Weird part is I got it home and it started on about the 4th kick! I have been using it as a "ditch mower" for about 1/2 the season. Have not had to do anything to it but put gas in it.

WOW!!!!

do you know what that is???!!!!

This is a Bolens Branded push mower!!!!!!!!!!

I would say around 1958 judging by that deck shell.

Great find!, colors should be metallic green deck with white wheels.

I'll have to check on that kick starter as I dont remember seeing ones quite like that.

BTW that's not a tech. it's a briggs.
