Hello All,

I am new to this site, but not to the L&G collecting scene.

Just dragged home and early MF Executive and am light a few parts. The gas tank support bracket is MIA and the cast clutch pedal is broken, so I an looking for one of those as well. As most of you know these were made by Duro and so the support for one of those would work just fine, clutch pedal too (I think).

PM me here.
 Thanks, David

Welcome to GTT.  I set the prefix on your title so maybe you will get more attention.

Bill,

Thanks much for the assist. I will say that I fully expect to pay for the parts requested. Just wanted everyone to know.

Welcome to gttalk.

By the way, there are two different types of clutch setups.

 - foot-rest rocks on a shaft

 - foot-rest is stationary and there's an arm on a shaft

Motobreeder,

Right you are, my post requests the cast version. The one that rocks on the shaft.

This isn't my first Massey, and without looking at the tag I would have said it is a 7, but it is a Model 8.

I am in possession of a Moto-mower that has the clutch pedal which operates both clutch and brake, as you know the cast pedal version operates only the clutch.

Again thanks, David

David,

I have one moto-mower in really rough shape that has the foot-rest/pedal - but I hadn't looked closely enough to notice that the pedal doesn't provide braking.  It has no motor and is very crispy, but I'm not ready to part it out just yet.

I understand completely. About the only thing this little gem has going for her is a positively mint tag.

Still I want to bring her back.
I had a later machine and foolishly put a price in it, I am sure you can fill in the rest of the story.

The Moto-mower I have is like the one used in your avatar.

Thanks.  I really like the 6hp Briggs Moto-mower.  Runs like a top.

I was using it earlier today with a yard cart to move a little bit of firewood.

If you get a chance, maybe you can post some pictures of what you've got going.  (start a new thread in the Massey forum)

There are a few MF Exec owners here that would love to share.

Hi

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your exec. Sorry, I can't help you out with any of

your parts needs. Mine are all in use.

The 1963 MF7E with cast pedal operated both clutch and brake on left pedal.

The 1964 MF8E had cast pedals as well, but clutch on left and brake on right.

In 1965 the MF8E used checker plate footrests, with both clutch and brake

on the left side.

  • motobreeder, TomLGT195 and new2horses have said thanks
