I was wondering if anybody here has heard of or know anything about Crusader lawn tractors. I had one as a kid that my uncle took the mower deck off of and made into a little tractor. It was equipped with a five horsepower Briggs and Stratton vertical shaft engine with just a forward and reverse transmission and had just a single blade mower on it. It was painted silver with a knight and Crusader painted on the grill. Thank You.

I know they were MTD made and sold by Heilig-Meyers according to my files. From your description, it was one of MTD's little self propelled push mowers with a seat they made in the sixties and seventies.

A few other things I can recall is that it had a steering wheel, solid front tires and pneumatic diamond tread rear tires with a solid rear axle. Even though it was only five horsepower it was a tough little unit, I drug a rock about half the size of it out of my uncles garden one year. I just looked at some other tractor photos and it looks like a exact twin to the Eaton Viking lawn mower.
