Two of my Uncles, a cousin and his son all came out to Moms to help cut up the pile of snags we had dragged in from the woods from where they had logged last year. It took me a week of spare time to get this all over, bringing a few at a time down the road and across the yard... Not an easy feat for a two man band :D

One of my best friends (and old member here) Caseguy came over and helped one day as well.

Before:

We cut for three hours straight. With either three or four saws running (had a breakdown with the splitter that Ryan had to deal with) it all turned into 18" blocks and sawdust.

We have a LOT of splitting to do, but what would've taken a week of spare time after work to just get cut up is a done deal.

After a big lunch of Chili, we said goodbye to the extended family and the immediate family even had time to get two trailer loads of wood into the basement.

Glad to hear Steve was over.  Not heard from him in a long time. Give him my best.  I used to enjoy sawing & splitting wood....that was then.  :smilewink:

Wow!! That is a lot of cutting! Nice you had family and friends to help out. Many hands make lighter work. Thank you for sharing the photos.

Burning wood will warm you twice.  :D

Always easier with family to help. I get to help my brother do his wood  this fall. I always enjoyed cutting firewood.

Last year, when Dad was sick and they ran the burner hard, they went thru approx 8 cord of wood.
With the stack in the background, the stuff to split that we cut today... we should be OK.

My grandpa always said it will warm you 4 times before you burn it
Cutting, blocking, splitting,& stacking

I never enjoyed it much, but I am enjoying the time with kids
