Today I tried adjusting the carburetor on the Sears to correct a surge. I look at the main jet needle and its completelly stripped. I'll have to take the carb off the tractor to replace it but I dont want to buy a full kit. Does anybody have an old usable needle they can buy?

To work with his air filter housing & all, it has to be a "DD" carb by Marvel Schreiber. Are you meaning the threads are stripped, or just the adjusting slot on the end?

I've used a hacksaw to cut new slots in them.
