I just got this GT 19 home yesterday and am just starting to go thru it/ get parts that are needed to get it back to runnable/usable condition.

How much is the same between the S series the GT series, YT,HT, Grand Sierra and such?

For example this thing is missing 1 brake rod, I see several pairs available on Ebay

Theres a pair from an S 14 another pair from a GT 14, and others from various models of Ariens tractors; by the oictures they all look identical but lighting, rust, camera angle etc can be decieving...

and there is other stuff that I know I will need for this machine and while I know that stuff does not necessarily have to be off of a GT 19 "only" which widens the possibilities when looking for parts but I don't wanna buy anything that won't work on this machine...  Now that said, I am talking "tractor only" I know where to get parts for the engine...

and why do attachments seem so outrageously priced for these machines vs some of the other brands?

The YT series is just a lawn tractor with a extra heavy frame. The HT series is a seperate line. The S, GT and Grand Sierra have the same frame and are considered the 931 series. All model numbers start with 931.  All attachments will interchange from these series and their model numbers start with 831.

The brake rod will have to be from a GT series machine. I think that the S series had slightly different linkage.

I think I got the ones he had listed for the GT 14,,,, he had those and ones for an S 14, as did other sellers. so other than a bigger HP engine what would the difference be between say a GT 14 and this GT 19 I now have?

that's "it"?  just P/S.   I wonder how many people have retrofitted other similar models with it?
