Not to gross anyone out, but I managed to get this staff infection on the back of my neck in the last few weeks. Don't even know whether I got it at work or just playing around here. At first I thought it was just a skeeter bite, then it turned into a lump about the size of a small lemon, in a couple of days.. The doc has lanced it 4 times, gave me 3 shots in the butt, has me on some strong antibiotics, and I get to go see him every morning. Pretty much took care of going to work last week and this coming one don't look much better. Be extremely careful out there, working with your stuff. You never know where its been or what might be hanging around waiting to get you.

You are so right about being careful. My wife developed a skin rash and 103 temp that ended up as a night in the hospital. The infection was killed but there is still  discoloration a month later. I like the cheap antibacterial soaps, they seem to stop all that I've come in contact with. Good Luck, Rick

Kinda reminds me of a spider bite gone bad.  Hope it heals up SOON!

Hope you can get it all healed up Jeff. It doesn't take much some times to really make a mess of our body.

Wow, I thought you only got staff like in a surgery room or the hospital.  I sure hope everything goes well for you Jeff.

well near as I can figure, I scratched my neck, and had something on my hand, or I got it from lying in the floor of a semi, working under the dash. Hard to really tell.

Not to worry you but a good friend of mine got a cut on his wrist at work, two or three days later he missed work.  Later that night his wife called me for help to go get his truck from the doctors office, he had come down sick and when he went to the doctors passed out.  the staff infection had gotten into his blood and caused him to almost die on the way to the hospital, while he was in hospital it got into one of his rotator cuffs and he almost had to have the arm removed!!  He is fine now but it took him the majority of one winter to recover, be careful with that staff infection!!!!

I like that Walmart drawing salve. The black stuff that smells like asphalt. Smear it on and cover with a bandage. It'll draw out the infection overnight.

About 10 years ago I managed to get a staph infection in my left buttcheek. It was no fun at all. Went to the ER and had it lanced then to my doc the next day. She sent a sample to the lab and found out it was MRSA. No idea how I managed to get it. The meds they put me on were almost as bad as the infection.

I couldn't imagine how a person would manage with only one butt cheek.

Be careful Jeff. Stuff like that is nasty... Especially scare me around major nerve centers.

I couldn't imagine how a person would manage with only one butt cheek.

The left side was about the size of a large cantaloupe. It was painful. Although while I was laying there in the ER with my butt hanging out for all to see the nurses kept coming in and out and I could hear them laughing in the hall.

When the doc lanced it the smell was horrific. People in the hall were asking what had died.
