Yesterday I went to pick up this Ride-a-Matic that was originally posted here on the forum about a month or so ago.
The owner wanted this to go to a good home and be appreciated and that's exactly what I'll do
This machine appears to have been well cared for and never spent a night outside. All the cultivator parts were greased so they wouldn't rust in storage. I also got a box of NOS parts that were bought many years ago. I'm not sure why there is an extra rear axle and gear in there as if its Used there's nothing wrong with it! It may be new but I cant tell for sure.
This will eventually get fully restored along with a few attachments. The engine was stuck when I went to look at it so I was a little concerned I'd have to find a crank& rod but when I got it home I was able to let the cylinder soak and gently broke it free. I cleaned the points and carbon off the head , installed new fuel valve and line and she fired right up!!!! Going to need a set of rings at least but other than that the engine runs pretty good, The original carb is a mess so for now I swapped it with a good one I had laying around.
