How much play should a  gear box have.???   I have about a  eighth of an inch of in and out play on the drive side of the gears ...    I'm putting in new seals and notice the slop... are the shims wore out.??   I really don't want to open the case up  if I don't have to..  There is no play in the needle bearings, just at the gears and the drive side of the shaft..     Hope I explained that right.!!

                                                                                    Thanks   sodi..
