Bought this 1968 JD 112, Not running and the PO said it hadn't ran in 12 or so years. Was stuck in gear when i got it but is free now, Still wont go in to 3rd or 4th yet. The hood is in pretty bad shape but the rest seems to be all there. I will try to get it started tonight and go from there. It was only $100.00. He told me it was a 1972 model but after checking the serial number i discovered it to be a 1968. Let the fun begin.

Played a little at lunch today and got it running (will need a carb kit) amazing after setting for so long that it runs after just a little spray carb cleaner. Clutch is sticking really bad but it does move under its own power.

For a $100 bucks I would say you got a real good deal.

With that price and the fact that it is running so easily after a little love tells me you did just fine.

The original steering wheel is on it and is different than the steering wheels on the 110s.  I think you did good on the price if you don't mind messing with the Tec engine.

but that tec engine is by far one of the best they ever built.... cast iron like a Kohler and tapered roller TIMKEN bearings on the crank  you don't get much more tough and durable than that
