I have 2 of those machines along with a reel master,they should have all the parts needed for this upgrade.
Look for a late 80's to 90's Toro or Jacobsen golf course mower. Usually have low to mid 20's hp Kubotas and ps.

Yea the D1105 is pretty powerful,self contained and small,I have the stuff for your power steering I am sure(on a Jacobsen greens king 4plus)

A K3D would be very good engine for that tractor.
It's physically as large as, if not larger than, the Bolens HT23, and the K3D should fit in that without too much trouble.
My HDT1000 is just an HT23 with the K3D in it instead of the Kohler K582. All they really did was lengthen the hood, and use a piece of plate so that it would extend forward of the frame. That plate was used to help support the battery and fuel tank.
