I just bought an older Roper 14 HP Model YT140BR and am looking for a Users, Repair Manual (or both) that I can download. Thanks for any help.

Are the Ropers a branch off of another model or was it only during part of their production?

I'm not sure I understand the question. From what I can tell the Roper is one of many brands manufactured by some company who apparently makes or made Craftsman for Sears. The one that I have shows a company in Savannah GA as the manufacturer. The name on the mower is "Roper Yard Tractor" and 14 HP. If the manuals aren't available maybe someone knows of a similar tractor under another brand name like Craftsman. I downloaded a parts list and it indicates it was made 1999 and before.

I think this is after roper & Sears mostly split up. Most of their stuff came from Electrolux group (husqvarna) sometime around then. When I'm looking for something like that I'd try google image searches for similar models under another brand. I tried to go thru the normal channels (ManageMyLife.com & sears.com) but sears doesn't recognize it at all.

this is one of the hardest things to tell about. David bradley made tractors for sears
then roper bought DB and built the tractors
then its so confusing from here on out. but if I am not mistaken
electrolux is roper.
and roper is a manufacturer.

Did a little looking, seems Roper sold out to American Yard Products (AYP) in the late 80's. Best info I could find, was 88. After that, the name Roper was continued, but only as a division of AYP and selling their stuff. I couldn't find a relationship between Electrolux & AYP manufacturing wise. BTW, Electrolux Outdoor was spun off in 2006. It's now Husqvarna Outdoor Products. They are also in with Poulan, Mac & some ztr companies.
