If the starter and blades are all it needs, that's a little high.
A brand new one can be had for around $3k, so, with 100 hours, figure 1500-2k? Maybe less if they are motivated like it sounds.
4700 isn't even asking price. They must have voluntarily paid more.

When I saw the ad I thought it must be from up here. We see nutty ads like that all the time. The map even looked like it was local until I zoomed out and saw it's from way far away!

We've had fun with this guy(including me). But, now I want to say I don't think this guy is delusional. He's just clueless. He needs to sell the machine and he doesn't know what it's worth. He figures it has low hours and it only needs a starter that he doesn't know how to fix. Everything else is fine, so he just figures half price. . . .       or make an offer.    Sadly he doesn't know that the resale value of a late model Craftsman ain't good!  It would help if he had a friend who could fix it.

I wonder - the hole in the block where the starter mounts . Is it still the normal size along with the bolt holes ? Just asking . Gasoline engines confuse me sometimes .
