A good shot of snow today! It's winter here up here now!
What to use. What to use.......
*The motor grader? '53 Galion model 118. (IH UD-16 engine) Such a production to get it ready and willing but the then BOOM DONE!
14 foot moldboard (12' and 2'). Man that thing moves snow! Best "snow blower" I ever bought, it has a cab, a seat and a heater that cooks your backside right out of there! Stuck outdoors for a couple more years.
*The skid loader? ('83 Gehl SL4510. The smaller Pinto engine) A Tea Cup at a time. But super quick to make ready. AND fun to spin 'round! Plus it was Dad's. It has a home in the shop. I taught the neighbor how to drive it with a beer in his right hand.... One stick wonder....
*The Bolens? ('75? 2087 [no suffix] with the 53138 Kohler K532) With the "snow caster" on the front.
It tills gardens like nobodies business too!
Blue blazes, does it start and run nice! A little warm up when it's cold out and the hydraulics stop whining. It's stuck outdoors yet.....
Ready to go!
Hmmmmm.
The Bolens!!!!!
Nope. Couldn't get out of its "spot" in the yard. Too much snow.
Guess I need some chains huh? But I have the wheel weights.....
Oh bother.
Took out the skid loader. Back and forth. Back and forth. Repeat ad nauseum.
I STILL get a charge out of moving snow. Once I'm in/on the machine of choice.
What'd you do after work today?
p.s. I need diesel and starting gas for the grader.
