Biggest tip I can give is to have a service manual and follow the procedures in it. Also, make sure you have all the tools and parts you need before you start. It's always tempting to try to replace parts without removing all the stuff that's in the way. It usually ends up taking more time to do it that way than to take things apart at the start. And while you have the tractor apart do any other maintenance that may want doing in the near future to avoid having to take it apart again next month.
