Welcome to the forum, glad to have you.  There are several other things I would rule out before I would consider replacing the starter.  Do you get any sound at all when you try to start it?  If you're not getting anything, you  could have a bad ignition switch, a bad safety switch, a bad solenoid, or a bad ground connection and a perfectly good starter.  If you have a volt meter, you can check the starter ground to be sure it's making contact and you could also check your safety switches and ignition switch to be sure they're making contact.  You can turn the ignition switch to "start" and see if you're getting 12 volts to the starter.  If not, you've got a bad switch, solenoid, or connection somewhere.  Almost forgot, be sure you have a good fully charged battery.

You can take a screw driver and cross the solenoid.

This manual shows how to test the starter, starting page 86, section 6B.

I also merged these two threads!

Take a pair of jumper cables or battery charger take the ground and ground it and touch the positive to the terminal and the starter should spin .
