Maybe just a tad much on the smoke!  You sure someone didn't plumb the intake to the oil sump?

It would make a good crop duster! Is there a lit barbecue under the hood?

lol Another OHV Briggs engine with a Blown Head Gasket.

That one is blown pretty good. The gasket blows between the Cylinder and the Push Rod galley on those. There's only about 1/4 of metal between the 2.Did you guys have a hard time trying to get it to crank over? When the gasket blows it messes with the valve clearance a bit to.

They are an Easy fix.$16 head gasket and set the valve lash and it will be good as new.

I think we may have a winner.  It does crank a little tough.

I've fixed a couple *hundred lol

I seem to get atleast a dozen every couple months. Not many 1st gen 14 and 14.5hp ones Most are 15 15.5 16.5 17.5 and the big 18.5 single.

I see lots of the 15.5hp and 17.5hp engines. They used those on most of the (MTD) Yard Machines and TroyBuilt machines.Poulan (AYP) used alot of the 16.5 and 18,18.5 engines on the tractors with bigger 48"-60" decks.

Glad to see it is a easy fix. I got a 14hp Kohler that smoked really bad. Had wore more then 30 thousandths of the cylinder walls. I was surprised it even ran.
