I shelled out the rubber on the reverse pulley on our little Bolens. It looks like it is just a large O-ring is that true? I was just going to stop at the local hydraulic shop and see if they have something that would work.

I think the reverse pulley is supposed to be a fiber disc. Not sure what you have there.

This one defiantly had rubber on it. The pulley has a V grove in it to hold the rubber.

Probably best to show a picture of it. sounds like someone added something rubber maybe where the reverse disc rides to compensate for wear.

I saw one that used an old boogie wheel from an old snowmobile.

Mine was made from conveyer belt. It lasted a long time, just replaced it with a fiber disc.

Definitely a homemade job there.

The Bronze reverse disc actually attaches to the engines pulley then comes in contact with the "Grooved" section of the versa-Matic sheave ( 1704961)
