Doug , 140 attachments will work on the 300, 314, 317 and maybe 316's, first series only. You have to notch one side of any 140 stuff to work on the back the 300 series tractors. I have a drawing to show you what you need to do. Front mount 140 stuff fits right on 300 tractors with no mods., 300 series gas tank is in the way on rear mount, thats why you have to notch the attachment.

Also, the late model 140 (+30,000) rear PTO will work on 300 series tractors.

They bring a big price everywhere Doug. I have been collecting them for a while now. I have a lot of info for making rear attachments. If you want to build 3pt or sleeve hitch, let me know.

$500 is even bit high for those. You can pick up a pretty nice one for about $350 usually. They have pretty much everything for these, sleeve hitch (w/ associated attachments), snowblower, snowplow, mid-mount blade, 3pt, loaders, cabs, ROPS, tillers, powerflow baggers, MC519 bagging carts, I think the decks are from 42''-50''. You can even buy a brand new deck for them. I don't think I missed anything...maybe Hope this helps.

I think you can also buy a brand new berco 2 stage snowblower for these from jimrepair. I would be interested in the 3 point somebody was talking about above. Do you have plans to build one? With the 300 you have to have rear hydro ports cause the 3 point runs off of its own cylinder right?

Most parts for the 300series are still available as well. JD calls the sleeve hitch an Integral Hitch in case you run across that term. You can also adapt the later quick hitches to the front end of the older tractors.

A good 4way 54" blade around CO is about $250... before the snow hits. As for deck size, I've seen 41s and 46s
