There is a band called Cake. They have a song called ain't no rest for the wicked on the cage the elephant album, my son had it playing on Pandora.
The video is odd, very odd, but the song (especially the guitars in the chorus) sounds like a song I liked from the 90's and I can't remember what it is. Kid rock,?red hot chili peppers?, aargh!

Driving me nutty, anyone have an idea?

I tried to pull up on Youtube and nothing for the band Cake under that title other than that is the title of their album. Maybe pandora is allowed to play "side B' songs that haven't hit mainstream???

There is also a band named Cage the Elephant too

I am no help :(

Ain't no rest for the wicked, Cage the elephant.

SAME SONG!

Has a very Beck sound to it.  I can't say I like it! :D

https://www.youtube....h?v=YgSPaXgAdzE Beck-Loser.  Reminds me of this.

But I may have the wrong song.

Beck-Loser. Reminds me of this.

Thanks, the cake song is it, but the beck song isn't the one im thinking of. I thought it was Kid Rock, cowboy, but that's not it. Oh well. Wife just suggested to give it up and it will come to me.

Oh no, keep an eye on that kid. Anything decent on that playlist? Avenged Sevenfold? Rob Zombie? Metallica? AC/DC? Korn? Tool?

I'll even throw in Royal Blood. But Cake? Next you're going to say there is Jack White music on there.

I think you're thinking of the Chili Peppers, but didn't Rage Against the Machine have a similar song?

I'd be more concerned if those bands were on his playlist....Nothing like some main stream bands that EVERYONE in the world can name even if they don't listen to music.

Only one on that list that was original at one time was Tool before they became popular.

I immediately thought of Kid Rocks Cowboy when I listened to it - although on a 1 to 10 scale Cowboy is a 735 and I'll give this Cake a 3.  :(

I agree on a couple points, it does sound a little like Kid Rock and ...it's horrible!

He tends to listen to the same stuff I do (classic rock) but throw in the occasional Gorillaz etc for me and the fratellis etc for him.
Cake happened to be in the 'etc' category.

It doesn't sound like Roy Rogers, Hank Snow, or Marty Robbins.

Does that help?

I have found out, never talk music with a kid. They just make you feel reeeeal old.

Me - "I always liked Cream and Long John Baldry!"

Punk kid - "Who?"
